Programs

Main Street Biloxi’s staff and membership work to develop events and promotions to drive traffic to Downtown Biloxi. These activities include:

Brown Bag Lunch Concerts – held monthly in Margaret Tremmel Peresich Park with live entertainment, door prizes, and drinks provided by Main Street. Attendees are encouraged to patronize local restaurants and get sandwiches/lunch plates to go and eat under the Live Oaks.

Main Street Movies – held throughout the year on the Town Green or on the grounds of the historic Magnolia Hotel. Classic family movies are projected on the big screen and attendees are encouraged to bring their lawn chairs and blankets and enjoy the show. Costume contests, games, and other family activities are part of this great event that routinely brings several hundred people downtown.

“Christmas in the City” – an annual holiday shopping campaign encouraging residents and visitors to frequent downtown merchants as part of their Christmas shopping plans. Special prizes and business “passports” are developed to facilitate this promotion. This promotion is held in conjunction with the region’s annual “Spend at Home” campaign.

Cruisin’ the Coast – Downtown Biloxi serves as one of the “cruise in” sites for this annual classic car show held each October. Over 5,000 cars and their owners socialize and frequent downtown area businesses during this event.

“Main Street Money” – a discount coupon book featuring special offers from area restaurants and shops are distributed to conventioneers at the Beau Rivage Resort to encourage them to explore our downtown district.

Online Coupons/Promotions – Member businesses can promote their special discounts or promotions on the Main Street web site through online coupons or as a “Featured Restaurant” or “Featured Retailer” spotlight.

Downtown Sales Brochure – Main Street is developing a special brochure and CD-Rom to showcase downtown to visitors and prospective businesses and investors.
